After a succesful launch earlier in the week, it seems that Gina Bingo is set to take the spotlight when it comes to affordable online bingo. Having introduced a new game schedule today, Gina Bingo is one of the few UK online bingo sites that offer top quality bingo at amazingly cheap prices.

Currently, Gina is offering not only free bingo games 24/7 with £1 prizes and jackpots of £60, but also in its new 1p room, it has introduced “Extreme Bingo” games with jackpots of £500 and minimum prizes of £10 for only 1p per card. In Club 90 you can find Gina’s “Thunder Balls” game which plays four times a night and has a guranteed £50 prize with a Jackpot of £500 for only 10p.

Gina also steels the spotlight when it comes to jackpots with her amazing array of both fixed and progressives. The Super Pot 90 progressive jackpot starts at £6000 and cards cost just 10p. Even better is the Power Pennies Jackpot of £500 for which cards cost just 1P. On top of all that, Gina offers an Easy Progressive Jackpot game which starts at £250 and grows until won for only 5p.

However, the best bargain at Gina Bingo must be the generous bonus offerings. All new players get £10 free no deposit bonus to try the site out and if they like what they see, they get a 200% bonus on their first deposit up to a massive £500 absolutely free.

It seems that Gina has her eyes firmly set on becoming a top player in the UK online bingo market and from the looks of things she is already half way there.

Even though you are not able to see the players you are up against in real live when playing online there are still a couple of tells that you will be able to use to your advantage when you play online poker.

Fast Bet
Fast Check
Betting Patterns
Wait and Bet
Telling Their Hand
Fast Bet
You can almost always be certain that when someone is betting fast they are trying to scare you away from the pot. When you want someone to fold you should bet fast since it looks scary to your opponents as it makes you look strong.

Fast Check
This is a really good tell in online poker. When a player has a weak hand he will sometimes click the check/fold button which means that he will instantly check if it is checked to him. When you see a player instantly checking like this you can be fairly sure that he is not sitting on a huge hand. If you bet here you will be able to take down the pot 9 times out of 10. But be aware that some players use this tactic to fool you and make them look weak when in fact they are holding the nuts. So you need to get the feel for the player before you try to make a move against him.

Betting Patterns
It is very important to pay attention to the betting patterns of your opponents at the table as this will give you a good idea of what kind of hand they have. Some players are raising their aces a lot harder pre flop than is they would be holding a hand like AK as they don’t want too many callers. It is always a good idea to notice these betting patterns and to take notes of how the different players are betting with different hands.

Wait and Bet
When you see a player at the table who is waiting longer than normal to make his bet is safe to make the assumption that he is holding a decent hand and trying to decide how much to bet into the pot. If you pay attention to the time each of the players at the table take to bet in their hands you will get a good idea of when they are holding a good hand and when they are not. If the player takes a lot of time to think and then just checks then he is most likely just out to scary you and make you think that he holds a big hand.

Telling Their Hand
A lot of players will tell you their hand in the chat after the hand is over and they have mucked a winning or losing hand. When they do this they are lying 99% of the time. Just think about it, why would they first muck their hand and then 5 seconds later tell you their hand. The only reason they are doing this is to play with your head and make you think that you made the wrong decision, don’t let them get to you and don’t fall for this trick.

In order to become a successful poker player you need to be a master of the ability to change gears. In this article we will go over some of the strategies that can be applied to a tight game.

Many poker players make the assumption that they will not be able to make any money playing at tight tables, they are wrong. A good poker player will be able to adjust his game to make him a winning player even at tight tables.

A tight player will always be making the mistake of folding way to many hands, this is something that you can take advantage of and take down a lot of small pots. As they will be folding a lot more than a loose player you can raise with a wider range of hands then normal and in this way you will be taking down a lot of small pots. Eventually the tight player will pick up a good hand and call your bets but by then you will be playing with the money that you have been winning in all the small pots and not having to risk the money you initially brought to the table.

Adjusting to a loose game is a whole lot easier than adjusting to a tight game. Since most of the loose players at the table are poor and losing players all you need to do when finding yourself at a really loose table is to sit and wait for premium hands and try to trap your aggressive opponent.

Another good thing to keep in mind is to only play when you are in position against the aggressive players to make your edge even bigger since you don’t have to worry about him three betting you.

When playing against a loose and aggressive player you can afford to be the passive player and just wait for the big hands to bring down some big pots, it is important that you narrow down the hand selection a lot when you are up against this type of players.

The Caribbean nation of Haiti has suffered an earthquake that measured a 7.0 on the Richter scale. Tens of thousands of people are likely dead and many others are injured. Homes are destroyed and lives have been ruined.
Citizens of the world are lending a hand in helping these grief-stricken people. The poker community is no exception. PokerStars, Full Tilt, and Cake Poker have offered to match 100 percent of all players’ donations through their websites.

PokerStars will allow players to donate privately by transferring funds to “Haiti Fund.” Additionally, dummy tournaments (no tournament is actually played) have been set-up where players may donate from $1 to $1,000. Their names will appear in the registered list and will be recognized as donors. These dummy tourneys can be found under the Tourney-Special tab.

Full Tilt Poker has also set up an account “Aid for Haiti” where players can donate privately by transferring funds. Players may register for dummy tournaments and donate anywhere from $1 to $500 to aid Haiti. Their names will also appear in the registered list to be recognized as donors to Haiti. These dummy tourneys are under the Tournament tab for Sunday at 18:00 ET.

Last, but certainly not least, Cake Poker has set-up dummy tournaments for $5, $25, or $100.

All funds will be sent directly to the American Red Cross. Again, all three sites have agreed to match any player’s donation by 100 percent.

Please, as a community of poker players and human beings, let’s do our part to help a grieving country get back on their feet. No donation is too small. Visit your favorite site today and donate!

There is tons of poker tournament strategy out there for a poker player to read to improve their game. Tournaments continue to grow in popularity, and that means that a skilled player will hold an edge over most of the action. The game is ever evolving and there are so many different types of tournaments to play now that a proper strategy is dependent on the type of tournament you’re playing. Turbo events are played much differently than a deep stack event, and each strategy has its own guidelines to follow to maximize your chances of going deep into the event.

When playing in turbo events a good portion of your decisions and aggression will be made pre-flop. As blind levels rise, which happens quickly in these events, taking down pots pre-flop (or getting your chips in with a coin toss chance) is something that you’ll have to do numerous times during play. Limping into a hand in a turbo event is never a good idea because the pre-flop action is so aggressive that you usually end up leaving the chips out there after having to fold to the pre-flop aggression that follows you. When you get a big hand don’t try to slow play it, bet it out because the action you’re looking for is far more likely to be there in a turbo event.

A re-buy event strategy should include consideration for bankroll before anything else. If you don’t have the cash to re-buy into the event a few times you should not be playing in it. If you only buy-in once you’ll be giving up an edge to the opponents that can afford to play aggressive to build a stack. If you bust out, re-buy and then re-buy again right after so you have a stack that’s twice the size. And remember to cut back the aggression after the re-buy period is over and things start to settle down.

Deep stack events require one thing more than anything else; patience. With so many chips and slow elevating blind levels, it will pay for you to wait for big hands to trap aggressive opponents. Make the most you can with your big hands and go back to a tight style of play until the tournament advances enough for the blinds to matter. Keep pots small in the early going and wait for opponents to make mistakes that cost them their chips.

If you plan on playing satellite action, make sure that you play in ones that you can afford. Wagering too much of your bankroll on a satellite chance is not a wise way to play the game, so keep these opportunities to a level that your bankroll can handle. The same goes for guaranteed events with big playing fields. Don’t make this action all that you play because the big fields make the event a longshot to go deep in. Keep your tournament buy-ins to less than 5% of your playing bankroll.

Whatever tournaments you choose to play in the New Year, take the time to learn which strategy is best for that particular action. If there’s one type that you have more success playing at than others you should concentrate most of your playing time in that setting.

2009 was a great year for ... more

So there’s another year over and a new one has just begun.

2009 was a great year for the game of poker, arguably the best year ever. Revenues for the game continued to grow in 2009 despite the economic situation in the United States, the game’s biggest market.

Poker players became household names, the online game moved slowly forward towards regulation in the U.S., and a social network called Twitter was a perfect fit to promote the lifestyle of the professional gamer.

At the 2009 WSOP the theme was multiple winners, and once again the record for the youngest WSOP champion was broken.

In 2009 our television screens had more professional poker players on display than ever before. Besides a wide array of poker shows, poker pros crossed over into mainstream media in a couple of big ways – the most famous being Annie Duke’s appearance on the hit show The Apprentice. Her feud with Joan Rivers captured some of the biggest primetime ratings of the year.

Appearing on another popular reality show were Maria Ho and Tiffany Michelle. The two competed on The Amazing Race in an attempt to win a million dollars, but fell short of victory despite starting the show as one of the strongest teams.

The battle to rescind the Unlawful Internet Gaming Act of 2006 continued in 2009 and it looks like some progress is finally being made. Through efforts from the Poker Player’s Alliance and House Representative from Massachusetts Barney Frank, and other online poker advocates, they have managed to delay the implementation of the UIGEA a full year until December 2010. That will allow more time for the issue to be reviewed further, and the opportunity for the future of the game to take a different direction.

The 2009 WSOP saw multiple players win multiple bracelets as the pros made a stand this year, taking away lots of the hardware.

Phil Ivey won two bracelets and made the final table of the Main Event, Greg Mueller won two, John Brock Parker won two, and Jeffery Lisandro won three bracelets, all in a variation of stud poker.

The 2009 WSOP also saw the dawn of the Twitter era for poker players. The social network instantly became a way for poker fans to see what a day in the life of a poker professional is like, and poker fans followed their favorites in droves throughout the WSOP and the rest of the year.

2009′s WSOP Champion was a 21-year-old kid named Joe Cada. He beat out a field of over 6,400 players to take down the $8.5 million first-place prize, breaking previous year’s Champion Peter Eastgate’s record as the youngest person to ever to take that title.

The growing competition of online gambling adds growing pressure to online casinos to search, test and find means to keep up with the competition.

Innovative poker firm PKR.com is helping to fund new neurological research in a bid to better understand consumer’s online experiences. Of course the research will be used to shape the poker site’s relaunch, which is scheduled for next year.

PKR is working with the customer experience consultancy Foviance in a bid to exploit the benefits of science using electroencephalography (EEG) technology to gather information on poker players’ emotional relationship with a brand or service.

The EEG technology works by measuring the electrical activity in parts of the brain. PKR is hoping to use the results of the research to provide it 2.25 million subscribers with poker that appeals on a variety of personal levels.

For the beginner, early results suggest that PKR offers significantly higher levels of emotional engagement compared to competitor sites. Foviance was also able to identify the peaks and troughs in concentration, the areas that cause confusion for the beginner player. Foviance was able to recognize the importance of the tutorial stages in engaging customers. This will enable the company to focus on what’s happening at various stages of the game in order to improve cross-marketing and up-selling opportunities.

Marketing director at PKR Technologies stated…

“This method of user research helps us understand the all important emotional experience that customers go through when using our site. This is very important to PKR as we aim to provide the most engaging poker experience online. Foviance’s insight has helped us identify how we can harness and develop the unique aspects of PKR’s engaging and immersive approach to online poker to ensure that our customers enjoy the highest quality experience possible.”

A range of factors ranging from cognitive and visual attention to emotional attraction and engagements is measured by Foviance EEG, revealing the pattern of visceral activity during an experience. It uses an Apprehension/Excitement index to reveal how people respond to specific incidents and allows for comparisons with other everyday activity benchmarks.

Developed in tandem with Neuroco, this service is available immediately from Foviance, which claims that neuropsychologists have shown that 85 percent of decision making happens at a subconscious level.

The use of EEG has been pioneered by the company in the assessment of user experiences for commercial purposes. By recording reactions at different stages of interaction with a website – with emotions ranging from excitement and anticipation through to anxiety and boredom – the researchers can provide detailed and specific site design recommendations that improve customer conversion.

A new Reality television series is being introduced by the Emmy award winning American talk show host Montel Williams. He will be introducing the International Team Poker League to viewers in November.

Williams is known as a poker buff, and he is calling attention to the online industry through the new television series which is yet another reminder of how online regulations are needed in the US.

Montel Williams stated…

”I love poker. It’s a game that has everything, played by kings and leaders and regular Joes alike. It crosses boundaries and borders, now, thanks to technology and the Internet, a global phenomenon that brings people of different ethnicities and origin together around the world. It is truly international, and the time is right for the International Team Poker League to take poker to a new level and a wider audience,”

Williams acknowledges that his series was made possible through the advancement of poker on the Internet. While there still exists that arguments as to whether poker is a game of luck or skill, it is becoming clearer as to which way the law looks at the game.

A recent ruling by a judge in Pennsylvania was that poker was a game of skill. The judge went on to set a precedent that will be used in other poker cases and debates around the country.

Part of Williams’ new show will take place on the Internet. Online satellite tournaments will be held online and at land based casinos for the poker series. The show will run much like a conventional talent show.

Once the satellite tournaments are complete, all of the winners will be brought to a Las Vegas casino and be placed on different teams. Those teams will then play one battle royal type final table to become the ITPL champions of this year.

The winning team will receive more perks that just the title. They will also be taped playing pros and living the poker lifestyle. The remote gambling industry is being targeted by Williams for sponsorship of the new show.
